Immigrant Services Association of Nova Scotia (ISANS) is a leading not-for-profit organization in Atlantic Canada. We provide a wide range of services to immigrants, including settlement support, language training, employment readiness, business development, community integration and family support. Our 275+ staff serve 10,000+ immigrants annually. We are the largest multi-service settlement organization in the Atlantic region, and a respected and influential champion in advancing Nova Scotia’s immigration agenda.

ISANS is currently seeking applications for the 2021-2022 Board of Directors. We seek individuals with board governance experience, lived experience as an immigrant and/or who hold leadership roles in the community or in your organization. This year we are particularly interested in candidates with a background in legal, finance, revenue diversification, and human rights and equity.

The ISANS Board of Directors is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the organization and maintains a clear distinction between Board and management roles, recognizing the interdependencies between them. The volunteer Board meets 8 times a year and members participate on Board standing committees

ISANS is dedicated to inclusiveness, equality and accessibility. We seek talented individuals who represent the diverse community we serve. We encourage applicants to self-identify the diversity you represent in your application. ISANS is committed to a barrier-free application process and encourages applicants to request any accommodation required.

We welcome your interest. Please learn more about ISANS vision, mission, programs and services by visiting our website and social media.
