Online Information Session: Making Friends in Canada as a Senior (Age 50+)

February 28 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

How important is it to make friends in a new country, especially when we’re in our older years? How can we make friends and connect with people from our community or others? Where can we find help for that in Halifax? The answers to these questions are vital for understanding and preventing isolation.

In this helpful and fun session for seniors, for seniors’ family and caregivers, and for anyone who wants to learn, Spencer House – “a community drop-in centre for the 50+ crowd” – will offer beneficial information while you socialize with other participants and create connections.

In this session, you will learn:

  • The importance of making friends in Canada
  • Tips on how to connect with people
  • About Spencer House services and programs

Please note:

  • This session will take place online. You will receive a Zoom link after you register.
  • Interpretation is available upon request
  • An in-person session will be provided at a later date when possible, based on COVID restrictions

For more information, to register, and to request interpretation, please contact:
