Who is Dalhousie Facilities Management?

Dalhousie University is Atlantic Canada’s leading research-intensive university and a driver of the region’s intellectual, social, and economic development. Located in the heart of Halifax, Nova Scotia, with an Agricultural Campus in Truro/Bible Hill, Dalhousie is a truly national and international university, with more than half of their more than 20,000 students coming from outside of the province. Their 6,000 faculty and staff foster a vibrant, purpose-driven community that celebrated 200 years of academic excellence in 2018.

As a key department supporting the infrastructure of the University, the mission of Facilities Management is to provide the Dalhousie community with an inviting, safe, and sustainable environment that supports and enhances an inspiring experience in learning, living, working, and research.

Reporting to Environmental Services supervisors, Custodians are responsible for performing cleaning and related duties for all assigned University buildings. Areas of responsibility include classrooms, laboratories, clinics, offices, lounges, washrooms, hallways, stairwells, entrances, and other designated building spaces, as required.
