Online Wellness Support Group: A Taste of Mindfulness
March 24 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Mindfulness is a gentle and effective way to cultivate awareness of thoughts, emotions, and sensations. It helps us stay connected to the present moment and break free of automatic, habitual reactions that are often unhelpful for our well-being.
We all experience moments of mindfulness in our daily lives – when we take a breath of ocean air, watch our child sleeping, or smell the coffee we have just poured. Through mindfulness practices, we can cultivate these moments of being present and relaxed more often.
Mindfulness can calm the mind and slow things down. Mindfulness has been well researched with scientific evidence mounting for its positive effect on physical and psychological well-being, as well as its ability to produce positive, lasting change in the brain.
Come and explore mindfulness in a session led by an experienced mindfulness facilitator.
Catherine Slone is a retired nurse who has worked in mental health. She has practiced mindfulness for several years and is a facilitator of a mindfulness group in Halifax.
