DESCRIPTION:October 28 – December 18 \nThis online course helps healthcare professionals improve their communication skills for working on a Canadian healthcare team. The activities support cultural and language development enabling students to practice interacting professionally\, respectfully and effectively with other healthcare professionals. \nThis course focuses on the culture and language elements of five interprofessional competency domains: \n\nValues and Ethics\nRole and Responsibilities\nTeams and Teamwork\nInterprofessional Communication\nConflict Management\n\nThe Interprofessional Communication course gives students opportunities to learn and practice the skills\, techniques and language related to these five interprofessional competency domains with other healthcare professionals in the class. \nThe course is for 7 weeks and there are two online classes per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00-7:30. Students also need to do 7-8 hours of independent study with the online materials.
