Attract, Retain & Support ISANS Employer Support Services: Register by 5pm Sept 23rd
October 8 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am
Join us for a 1.5-hour webinar to learn about ISANS Employer Support Services and how ISANS can help you settle and retain skilled immigrants and international student graduates, as well as help you meet your human resource needs by connecting you to potential employees. ISANS has been serving the community for over 40 years and part of the work we do is to help Nova Scotian employers strengthen and diversify their workforce by connecting them to our talented immigrant job seekers.
In this session, you will learn about the following employer supports:
- Skills Match Online Recruitment Tool, which provides you with access to qualified, pre-screened ISANS clients.
- The Professional Practice Programconnects skilled newcomers to Canada with local businesses in their fields for partly volunteer, flexible, low-risk six-week work placements. These placements function similarly to co-ops, with the major difference being our candidates are well into their careers and participate to get experience in a Canadian workplace, network, and gain local references.
- On-site and Online Recruitment and Information Sessions (ORIS) to help you promote various job opportunities.
- If you are contemplating an international recruitment initiative, currently recruiting employees worldwide, or have recently onboarded international hires, ISANS offers specialized support resources and assistance designed to help you effectively facilitate the integration and retention of your immigrant and skilled refugee employees, both before and after their arrival.
- The Work-based Trades Practical Assessment (WTPA) Rural Program was developed in partnership with Nova Scotia Apprentice Agency to connect new Canadian tradespeople with rural employers. The WTPA Program offers trade clients the opportunity of 12-weeks of on-the-job work assessment to determine their skills, experience and aptitude for the trade under the supervision of a Red Seal Journeyperson.
- Professional mentorship connects practicing professionals and skilled immigrants in the same occupation and provides a valuable learning opportunity for both. Mentors provide support and oftentimes entry into professional networks
that allow our clients to break into the job market, at a level comparable to their education and experience.
- Atlantic Immigrant Career Loan Fund (ACILF) – Are you recruiting internationally trained candidates but need a way to get them certified to work in Canada? Do you have existing staff that could be doing more for your business if they could get their credentials recognized? The Atlantic Immigrant Career Loan Fund can help them and your business via our credential recognition program.
