About the Program

The Communication Strategies for Patient Interactions (CSPI) course supports international medical graduates (IMGs) and international pharmacy graduates (IPGs) in developing the communication strategies needed to succeed in Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) licensure exams. The course focuses on listening and speaking skills aligned with OSCE communications competencies.

To participate in CSPI, candidates must have a minimum CLB 6 required in all four skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Program Highlights 

  • Covers a wide range of topics based on OSCE communication competencies
  • Delivered as a 9-week online course with weekly synchronous sessions 
  • Includes 6-8 hours of independent study per week 
  • Facilitated by an experienced EAL instructor
