About the Program
If you're an internationally educated accountant living in Nova Scotia looking to upgrade your skills and develop professional competencies on the job, the Work-based Competency Assessment for Accountants bridging program will help you:
- Advance your communication skills as an accountant
- Learn about job-search techniques and workplace culture in your field
- Understand the pathway to become licensed as a Certified Professional Accountant (CPA)
- Demonstrate your accounting/professional competencies to an employer
- Gain Canadian work experience and references in the accounting field
To be eligible, you must:
- Be a Permanent Resident or an immigrant Canadian citizen or a Refugee with a Notice of Decision
- Have an Accounting or Business Background
- Register as an ISANS client and with an ISANS Employment Specialist
- Have a language level of CLB 6+
- Commit to participating in/completing the project components
