Immigration Status:

  • Canadian Citizen Born outside Canada, International Graduate, Permanent Resident, Refugee Claimant, Temporary Foreign Worker

To be eligible for this program, you must:

  • Be an immigrant aged 55+

About the Program

The Immigrants Aging Well in Canada program enhances the quality of life for immigrants aged 55+ by providing workshops, activities and guidance on essential services and resources. The program helps seniors and their families navigate available support systems, ensuring they can age well in Canada. ISANS also collaborates with agencies and community groups to promote culturally appropriate services tailored to the needs of immigrant seniors.

Participants in this program will:

  • Gain access to services, programs and benefits designed for immigrant seniors in Halifax and HRM
  • Engage in in-person and online information sessions with guest speakers from government and community organizations
  • Participate in wellness activities that promote healthy aging in Canada
  • Receive personalized navigation support to connect with essential services, either individually or in groups
