Practice Interview
ISANS’ Practice Interview Program helps immigrant professionals with intermediate or higher English who are actively job searching to prepare for a job or post-secondary admissions interviews. This volunteer role is one-on-one and is based on your availability.
You will be required to review a job or program description, customize questions and read the client’s resume and Linkedin profile. You conduct a 30 minute to 1 hour practice interview where you will assess and provide constructive feedback. This role can include coaching but does not involve a resume critique.
Interviews can be conducted in person, remotely, and by telephone.

Qualification:
Minimum 3 years’ Canadian workplace experience in Human Resources or hiring, subject matter expert in your field, or, recent graduate from an accredited HR course (e.g. NSCC, SMU, Eastern College)

Please note: some of the ISANS volunteer roles require an intermediate to advanced English language level. This is because the roles support:
- newcomers with beginner English levels who wish to be matched with someone who can help them practice their English
- newcomers with a wealth of experience who seek insight into the Canadian workplace and community culture
We do have some opportunities for beginner English language speakers as well!
Volunteers must be 18 years of age and older to volunteer. For those under 18, and enrolled in a high school co-op program, there may opportunities work placements at ISANS.
