ISANS Certified as an Accredited Testing Centre

ISANS is now an accredited language test centre for the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program (CELPIP) and the Canadian Academic English Language Computer Edition (CAEL CE) tests.

Proof of English and/or French language proficiency can be a requirement for education, regulated professions, immigration applications, and Canadian Citizenship. As Nova Scotia welcomes more immigrants, the demand for access to these tests has increased. Recognizing this, ISANS began work with Paragon College to become accredited.

“We are proud to be able to offer this new service to our clients and community members,” says Li Jin, ISANS Director of Operations. “The testing centre allows us to continue to offer a full spectrum of programs and services to help support newcomers in their settlement journeys.”

The CELPIP Tests are Canada’s leading general English tests for immigration, citizenship, and professional designation. There are two types of CELPIP tests. While both are used for professional designation, the CELPIP – General assesses an individual’s English reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills for permanent residence applications, whereas the CELPIP – General LS evaluates a test taker’s English listening and speaking skills for citizenship applications. Learn more about these tests here.

CAEL CE measures an individual’s skills in English for academic purposes. Professional organizations, colleges, universities, and employers officially accept CAEL as proof of English language proficiency. Learn more about these tests here.

Testing begins in early July at the ISANS Mumford Office and will take place on Thursday evenings and during the day on Saturdays and Sundays. Find test availabilities and register here.

ISANS is also in the process of becoming an accredited centre for IELTs (International English Language Testing System) tests, which would allow us to offer a full suite of language proficiency tests.
