About the Program

The Internationally Educated Nurses (IEN) Orientation Program supports internationally trained nurses in navigating the licensure process and entering the Canadian healthcare workforce. Through the 22-week Foundations of Nursing Practice course, structured study groups, Adult Health Assessment workshops and other educational sessions, participants build the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed in nursing in Nova Scotia.

The program helps participants develop workplace communication skills, explore both nursing-specific and alternative career options and receive mentorship from experienced nurse educators.
