The work of the Nova Scotia Coalition on Community Interpreting, lead by ISANS staff Merek Jagielski, has been recognized by the Nova Scotia Legislature.

Rafah DiCostanzo, MLA for Clayton Park West, made a member statement in the House on Thursday, April 5, 2018 acknowledging the work and accomplishments of the Coalition.

The Coalition is a collective of stakeholders and partners that represent interpretation services, interpreter and translator associations, government departments and Service providing organizations.

The Guidelines and Standards for Language Interpretation was developed by the Coalition on Community Interpreting with support from the Nova Scotia Office of Immigration. The launch of the guidelines, along with work by the Coalition on Community, provided a foundation for promoting the development of language interpreting services in Nova Scotia for publicly funded services.
