Eligibility
To be eligible for this program, you must:
- Reside in Nova Scotia
- Have English proficiency at CLB 4+
- Complete the volunteer application
- Attend the General Volunteer Orientation
- Sign a Confidentiality Agreement
- Undergo a criminal record and vulnerable sector check (depending on the role)

About the Program
The ISANS Volunteer Program connects community members with opportunities to support newcomers through various roles. Volunteers play a vital role in creating a more welcoming and inclusive society, helping individuals and families integrate into life in Nova Scotia. ISANS provides orientation, training and ongoing support to ensure volunteers are well-prepared to contribute effectively to our programs and services.
ISANS volunteers:
- Support individuals, communities and organizations in fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment
- Help deliver 13+ programs and services that directly assist newcomers
- Share their skills, knowledge, and time to provide newcomers with access to information and resources
