2023 Immigrant Entrepreneurship Awards

We had an amazing time celebrating our 2023 Immigrant Entrepreneurship Awards event at the Halifax Central Library. Immigrant entrepreneurs are an essential part of this province’s economy and overall success. Here at ISANS, we are honoured to support immigrant entrepreneurs.

To all our nominees, finalists, and winners, thank you for all you do. Here are last night’s winners:

– IWEN Entrepreneur of the Year: Nadia Ivanova (Sparrow Acoustics Inc.)
– Innovative Business of the Year: MOC Bio Technologies Inc.
– Small Business of the Year: Podstarter
– New Small Business of the Year: Issar Kitchen Ltd. (SpiceKit)
– Sustainable Business of the Year: Shifting Shap3s

We also presented the Exceptional Entrepreneurial Achievement Award to Ifeanyi Emesih, CEO and founder of My East Coast Experience Media.

Our award judges were Tia Upshaw, Andrey Olinov, Alyse Hand, and Purush Cannane. Minister of Economic Development Susan Corkum-Greek was in attendance as well, sharing optimistic and empowering words.

We also want to thank all the caterers and organizations that had booths during our event’s networking portion. And lastly, we want to thank Robert Campbell for helping us livestream the event.

We hope to see you at next year’s award event! Until then, we hope you support immigrant entrepreneurs and businesses all year round.

This event was made possible by our funders, the Government of Canada, the Nova Scotia Government, and the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency. We would also like to thank all our sponsors: CEED, TD, Halifax Chamber of Commerce, BDC, Invest Nova Scotia, Divert NS, McInnes Cooper, and Halifax Public Libraries.
