About the Program

ISANS provides short-term childcare for children whose parents or legal guardians are attending settlement services, workshops, information sessions or individual appointments at our sites. All bookings for this program are managed through ISANS staff and participants should speak to their ISANS contact to confirm eligibility.

Through the Care for Newcomer Children – Short-Term Care program, young children experience a trauma-informed, play-based approach that supports their development and integration. For many, this is their first childcare experience. The program helps children build social skills, develop language abilities, express themselves and prepare for school. Many children return to our centres multiple times, quickly adapting to familiar routines.
