About the Program
ISANS offers Targeted Language Programs to support vulnerable newcomer groups by providing customized instruction, accessible learning environments and engaging teaching methods. These classes are offered in person or online using easy-to-access technology and are designed to meet the specific needs of seniors, deaf learners, young parents and youth.
Each program is structured to ensure learners feel supported and empowered as they build their English language skills in a safe and inclusive setting.
Our Programs
- Language for Seniors – A slower-paced class featuring large print materials, memory exercises and conversational practice, tailored to meet the needs of older learners.
- Language Acquisition for Deaf Students – An interactive, in-person class that integrates sign language with captioned lessons and visual-based learning to support Deaf and hard-of-hearing students.
- Mom and Baby – A women-only class with childcare support for mothers with babies under two years old. The class focuses on parenting-related vocabulary, social interaction and offers flexible scheduling and access to parenting workshops.
- Language for Youth – A program for youth aged 16 to 30, combining classroom language training with community outings and activities to build confidence and communication skills in real-life contexts.
