About the Program
Canada Connects pairs individuals or families with a community volunteer who provides guidance and support throughout the program. This initiative helps newcomers learn about local culture, resources and opportunities while building confidence and meaningful connections. By meeting weekly with a volunteer, participants can practice English, explore local life and strengthen their integration into the community.
Participants in the program will:
- Receive one-on-one support from an English-speaking volunteer
- Learn about opportunities to explore local resources and services
- Increase confidence in navigating daily life and local systems
- Practice real-life conversational English
- Participate in cultural and recreational events
- Receive personalized guidance based on individual needs
- Build stronger community connections
