About the Program
The Recreation Navigator Program provides tailored recreation and leisure support to permanent residents living in Nova Scotia for over a year. This program matches families with a volunteer who helps them discover and access local community centres, sports activities and recreational programs. With personalized support, families gain confidence in navigating recreation services, applying for funding and participating in community activities that enhance their integration and well-being.
Participants in the program will:
- Receive personalized support to explore local recreation opportunities
- Get help registering for sports, activities and programs
- Learn how to apply for recreation funding
- Discover community centres, parks, libraries, and playgrounds
- Attend community events and activities with volunteer guidance
- Build connections and gain confidence in navigating local services
