#BalanceForBetter: ISANS celebrates International Women’s Day

I will support all women rights. No matter how badly someone treats you, never drop down to their level. Remain calm, stay strong, and walk away.

International Women’s Day, March 8,  is recognized globally as a day to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. Celebrated for over a century, International Women’s Day also marks a call to action for creating a more gender-balanced world.

To celebrate the day, students in a level 5 English class spent the day learning about the history of International Women’s Day, how it is celebrated in different countries and how we can work to create equal opportunities for all. They then participated in the #BalanceForBetter 2019 campaign by filling out cards stating what they will do to make a positive change for gender equality.

ISANS also celebrated the day by attending International Women’s Day events across the city and by hosting a staff social at each of our three locations, celebrating all of the wonderful women we work with.
