The Metropolis Awards of Excellence recognize and celebrate outstanding contributions to the field of immigration and settlement in Canada. These national awards intend to establish a benchmark of achievement and excellence, bringing pride and peer acknowledgment to the deserving recipients.

Gerry Mills, ISANS former executive director, is the recipient of this year’s Metropolis Service Provider Award for her outstanding work in immigrant settlement.

Through her career, Gerry had a great impact on the settlement service sector across Canada, on immigration to Nova Scotia, on ISANS and its predecessor Halifax Immigrant Learning Centre, and on colleagues and clients. This award recognizes her great contribution as an innovative, dedicated, collaborative leader.
