ISANS INSPIRES: Celebrating dedication and impact
On October 25, ISANS hosted the first ISANS INSPIRES staff appreciation event, honouring its employees’ unwavering commitment, hard work, and impactful contributions. The gathering brought together the ISANS team to recognize the exceptional efforts of staff who consistently go above and beyond in supporting newcomers and fostering inclusive communities across Nova Scotia.
The event was a heartfelt celebration of the dedication and passion driving ISANS’ mission forward daily. The atmosphere was filled with appreciation, inspiration, and a sense of shared purpose. CEO Paula Knight opened the event by emphasizing the vital role of each team member in ISANS’ mission and its impact on Nova Scotia’s growth and inclusivity. Board Chair Rick Power followed with a speech on resilience and community-building, praising the staff’s dedication and the positive ripple effect they create across the province.

A special moment led by Wenche Gausdal expressed gratitude for the Refugee Resettlement team, particularly during the Afghan Initiative, showcasing the collaborative efforts that help newcomers find stability and community.
Vesna Mirosavljevic celebrated those who received certificates from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) to participants of the Afghan Initiative, symbolizing hard work and new beginnings in Canada. The Long-Term Service Awards, presented by Olive Ozoemena, celebrated employees with 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of service, with special recognition for Muriel Jansen and Zlatan Musanovic for their 25 years of dedication, exemplifying the profound impact of long-term commitment at ISANS.
