About the Program
In our EAL (English as an Additional Language) Volunteer Tutor Program, you will improve your language skills with the help of an EAL volunteer tutor and/or through conversation circles. You will meet with the program coordinator to discuss your language needs and your preferences. To match you with a tutor and to place you in the right conversation circle, we consider your location, availability, learning goals, Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level, and interests. An EAL tutor or conversation circle facilitator is someone you can talk to and learn with. Usually, you meet your tutor and/or attend a conversation circle once a week for 2 hours, over a period of 3 months to 1 year.
