Eligibility

NOTE: You must be a registered ISANS client to be able to access our programs and services

Immigration Status:

  • Canadian Citizen Born outside Canada, Permanent Resident

To be eligible for this program, you must:

  • Be interested in caregiving and supporting individuals with disabilities, chronic illness, or mental health challenges
  • Commit to completing all required LTCA and DSW-specific training
  • Have a minimum CLB level 4

About the Program

The Long-Term Care Aide (LTCA) and Disability Support Worker (DSW) Program equips newcomers with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in healthcare and community care roles. These professionals provide essential physical, emotional and social support to individuals of all ages living with chronic illness, disabilities or mental health challenges.

Participants gain hands-on training in person-centred care, develop effective workplace communication strategies and receive tailored job search support for the caregiving sector. Training includes online and in-person modules, First Aid/CPR certification, safety training and employment preparation, helping participants build confidence and prepare for work or further education in the health and social services field.
