About the Program
ISANS Specialized Settlement Counsellors assist newcomers experiencing crises by offering support, advocacy and referrals to culturally appropriate services. ISANS is recognized for its expertise in supporting victims of domestic and gender-based violence and works closely with partner agencies to ensure newcomers receive the help they need.
Crisis situations can include domestic violence, conflict with the law, social justice issues (e.g., tenancy law, Income Assistance appeals, guardianship applications) and other urgent situations affecting personal or family stability and safety.
