Mock interviewer
Activity Description
- Host a virtual mock interview with a client in which you will ask them interview questions, listen to their answers, and provide feedback.
- We provide you with the questions to ask, the resume, and the job description in advance. We can also provide sample feedback forms to help you get started!
Key Information
Time Commitment:
At the discretion of the volunteer. Each month, the JSSW facilitator will send you an email to ask about your availability. Since interviews are held virtually, you can conduct them from home, your office, or other places where you can listen with minimal distraction. You can conduct them during the day, evening, or on weekends if you prefer. You can conduct as many interviews as you have time for.
Duration:
1.5 hours/month (one mock interview and feedback).
Qualification:
This role will be suitable if you have experience hiring staff in Nova Scotia such as a business owner, manager, or human resource professional. It would be suitable for good communicators interested in meeting people from a variety of countries, cultures, and backgrounds.

Please note: some of the ISANS volunteer roles require an intermediate to advanced English language level. This is because the roles support:
- newcomers with beginner English levels who wish to be matched with someone who can help them practice their English
- newcomers with a wealth of experience who seek insight into the Canadian workplace and community culture
We do have some opportunities for beginner English language speakers as well!
Volunteers must be 18 years of age and older to volunteer. For those under 18, and enrolled in a high school co-op program, there may opportunities work placements at ISANS.
